Almuftah Jewellery launches new Charriol Celtic Watch collection

The intricate, curvilinear patterns of ancient Celtic art have been adored by people since antiquity. The complex spirals and loops that were used to decorate Celtic pottery, sculptures and metalwork evoke a sense of balance, a characteristic that has inspired many artists long after the time of the Celts.

Taking cue from this ancient tradition, Charriol — one of the world’s most distinguished jewellers — created an exquisite new collection of Celtic watches, a set which Almuftah Jewellery officially launched in Qatar during the 9th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition held last February.

Almuftah Group Chairman Abdulrehman Muftah Almuftah said that Charriol is adored by customers who love beauty and innovation, and the jeweller's latest collection will certainly be welcomed by this clientele.

"This new collection of Celtic watches is sure to enrich the Qatari jewellery market," he said.

Similarly, Charriol Marketing Director Benoit Deroual expressed his enthusiasm.

“This is the outcome of our growing confidence in the Qatari market and our strong partnership with Almuftah Jewellery, which has been going on for around 25 years,” he told the press.

The new timepieces comprise the fourth generation of Charriol’s iconic Celtic watches, a line that has turned out to be among the brand’s most notable collections. Charriol has become famous for these watches and a number of other jewellery pieces, which have been freely inspired by the graceful twists of Celtic torques. Charriol was also the first to use steel cables as adornment for watches.

Charriol’s creative director, Coralie Charriol-Paul, has also suggested that her future creations will draw inspiration from Doha’s unique architecture and character. Charriol-Paul heads the brand’s creative team, which is responsible for designing the elegant creations that Charriol has become known for.
