QMS Department holds ISO awareness training for Almuftah Contracting Co.

A two-day ISO 9001:2008 awareness training programme was conducted for the managers and other key personnel of Almuftah Contracting Co.'s Civil Division and Oil and Gas Division.

The training programme, held on May 12 and May 20, was an initiative of Almuftah Group's Quality Management System Department and was duly supported by the Human Resources Department. It was carried out with the goal of improving the divisions' quality management system, an objective which is in line with the management's commitment to improving the quality of service being afforded to the company's customers.

ISO auditor Omar Jordan presided over the seminar and provided the attendees with a comprehensive background about the development, application, implementation and interpretation of quality management systems that are compliant with ISO 9001:2008 standards. The training modules were designed to provide the participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and to acquaint them about its value as a tool for business improvement and for strengthening the integrity and reliability of the company's operations.

On top of being imparted with important information, the participants were also encouraged to participate in the discussions and to share their own ideas. One of the subjects discussed was regarding how businesses can turn adversity to prosperity.

Quality Management System Department Head Tony Tremedal said that the proper implementation of ISO 9001:2008 standards will empower Almuftah Contracting Co.'s managers to always see the interests of their clients and the communities their clients serve as their top priorities.

"Aside from being able to proactively address the increasing demand for high quality service, the proper implementation of a quality management system will be a convincing assurance to our customers that our company will continue to meet their needs over the long term.

"That's a challenge, but it is also an opportunity for us to stand out from the competition and show existing and potential customers the strength of our products and services without compromising our social responsibilities," he said.

The training programme is just one of the series of seminars that the QMS Department has prepared for all Almuftah Group divisions in the near future.
