The IGCSE program is designed to encourage high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. IGCSE is internationally recognized as being equivalent in standard to the British GCSE and International GCE O level examinations.

IGCSE examination sessions occur twice in a year, in May/June and November, with results published in August and February respectively. The English Modern School conducts its examinations in May/June every year.

Examination Result Grades
A nine point scale of grades is issued to the students according to the marks scored in the examination. The Grades are:
A+, A, B, C, D, E, F, G and U.
Grade G indicates minimum satisfactory performance.
Grade U indicates failure to meet the minimum satisfactory marks.
Graduation certificates are distributed at the graduation ceremony and the best student is honoured with prizes.
